How does Mantie work?

For children and caregivers who live at a distance, it can sometimes be difficult to know if everything is going well with an elderly person living alone. Insight is often limited to a phone call or an occasional visit.

Mantie changes that. It discreetly follows the daily routine of the elderly person and keeps caregivers informed at all times, wherever they are. Completely automatic, with tailored information — precisely matched to the person’s daily rhythm.

Discreet movement monitoring

Mantie records the personal daily routine of the elderly person, based on one or more motion sensors in the home and the mobile phone. Has the person gotten up? How much movement has there been during the day?

At the same time, Mantie learns the daily rhythm. This personal data is stored locally — in the person’s own home. And it is used exclusively to inform their own caregivers.

The result? A discreet and privacy-friendly way to keep an eye on things.

Smart analysis and notifications

Mantie continuously analyzes the daily routine. It recognizes what is normal and signals deviations from the familiar pattern.

Caregivers receive notifications via a shared chat group on their mobile phones. Everyone is immediately informed of the same information, at the same time.

Thanks to clear traffic light colors, it’s instantly visible how important a notification is — for example, how much a situation deviates from the pattern. Caregivers also see when there is movement again, for example after an unusually long nap. Or when the elderly person has left or returned home.

Easy coordination and response

Through the chat group, caregivers can easily coordinate what is needed. They can quickly respond to notifications, for example to agree on who will visit or call — or to let everyone know that everything is fine. This way, everyone is immediately and well informed.

Often, there is a simple explanation for a notification: a longer nap than usual, or someone has been tinkering in the garage all afternoon. But if something is wrong, it’s extra reassuring to have Mantie as a backup.
